Tapirulan Illustrators Contest 2024
The Tapirulan Illustrators Contest is an international competition designed to celebrate and promote the work of contemporary illustrators from around the world. Now in its 19th edition, the contest invites artists to submit a single, square-format illustration interpreting the theme "Voilà." This annual event not only seeks to uncover fresh and innovative artistic talents but also to provide a platform for their work to be recognized and appreciated globally. Each year, the competition attracts hundreds of entries from a diverse pool of illustrators, making it a significant event in the illustration community.
The selected works are featured in a beautifully curated catalogue and showcased in a prominent exhibition held in Cremona, Italy. This exhibition is a cornerstone of the Tapirulan Association’s efforts to foster artistic expression and connect illustrators with a wider audience. By being part of this exhibition, illustrators gain invaluable exposure and the opportunity to have their work seen by industry professionals, peers, and art enthusiasts. The top 52 illustrations are not only included in the exhibition but also have the honor of being published in the Tapirulan calendar, which is widely distributed and highly regarded.
In addition to the exhibition and publication, the Tapirulan Illustrators Contest offers substantial prizes to its participants. The jury, comprised of esteemed figures in the art and illustration world, awards the main Jury Prize of 3,000 € to the most outstanding entry. Moreover, the competition includes a Popular Prize, determined by public voting, which adds an interactive element to the contest and allows the audience to engage directly with the artworks. The winner of the Jury Prize is also granted the opportunity to hold a personal exhibition at the Tapirulan Gallery the following year, further solidifying the contest’s role in advancing the careers of emerging illustrators.

Prize
The winner of the Tapirulan Illustrators Contest will receive a Jury Prize of 3,000 €. The selected illustrations will be showcased in an exhibition in Cremona, Italy, and the winner will also have a personal exhibition hosted by the Tapirulan Gallery the following year. Additionally, one of the 52 selected artists will be awarded the Popular Prize based on public voting.
