The British Museum is undergoing one of the largest cultural redevelopment projects in its history and is seeking a Client Project Manager within the Estates and Capital Projects department. This role is responsible for leading and delivering major capital projects within a Grade I listed building, ensuring timely and budget-conscious delivery while the Museum remains open to millions of visitors each year.

Responsibilities:

Manage and deliver capital construction projects from inception to completion and handover, in line with RIBA Plan of Work and Museum standards
Deliver a range of projects including Masterplan initiatives (e.g., Western Range), high-profile visitor projects, and infrastructure renewal works
Manage resources, procurement, budgets, and contracts effectively
Work collaboratively across multi-disciplinary teams and with stakeholders
Communicate confidently and effectively at all levels, influencing and negotiating as required

Qualifications & Skills:

Significant experience in project management, including procurement and contract management
Strong ability to manage budgets and control costs
Demonstrable stakeholder engagement and teamwork experience
Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written
Experience in museums, heritage, or cultural organisations is desirable

Compensation & Benefits:

Annual salary: £49,829
